Astrological Confluences

Mercury and The Moon are chief players in this confluence…

An astrological event such as the one we find ourselves in now (11.28.17) and an upcoming 12.3.17 full moon with 12.2.17 Mercury retrograding dancing around Saturn for a second time will no doubt be interesting.

Mercury Retrograding dancing with Saturn direct

First – Mercury has been hanging around at 29 degrees Sagittarius and will go retrograde on Saturday, December 2 at 11:34 PM PST and then direct on Friday, December 22 at 5:51 PM PST at 13 degrees of Sagittarius. I subscribe to a different interpretation of the meaning of retrograde that most Western Astrologers, one that is held by Jyotish or Hindu – Eastern Astrologers that purports that retrograde planets due to a closer proximity to Earth – then the energies of the retrograde planet are more intense.

truths about authority being exposed or surfacing in a messy fashion

When a planet is at 29 degrees of whatever sign it is in it is considered karmic because it represents the penultimate of that sign. All the good, bad and ugliness of that sign is crammed into that end degree and since there are no lines in space it also is on the cusp meaning that it has characteristics of the next sign. If you were born on the 19th to the 22nd of any month you may have your Sun at 29 degrees and have had extra karma to deal with-which is probably no big deal because you have survived and have been dealing with it.

With Mercury retrograding at 29 degrees blending its energies with Saturn – we will have intensely karmic thinking and communicating that could produce outbursts and faux pas of gargantuan proportions (Sagittarian) that will more than likely contribute to truths about authority being exposed or surfacing in a messy fashion. A piece I wrote at the beginning of November about astrological and male sexual abuse of women (and men) – these issues will continue more truths will surface be talked about https://psychesweather.wordpress.com/2017/11/16/abuses-of-male-sexual-power-astrology/ .

Gemini ruled by Mercury is an expression of thought appearing in chaos and merriment to solve complex problems verbally in local communication with another.

These issues will continue and all those that have been oppressed by sexual abuses and other kinds of abuse will grow more intense as authority is questioned and challenged. It may be likely that if the GOP Tax Scam is passed by the Senate that it may not come to pass between the House and Senate and with truths surfacing about POTUS that will put him closer to impeachment. If it the tax scam passes it will with good certainty be repealed.

Monday, December 6th could be an explosive day for a revolutionary truth about authority that could support the underdog / oppressed.

Mercury retrograde – or the intensities of thinking and communicating big ideas and truths will present revolutionary ideas and challenges to authority supporting the oppressed between December 2nd and the 22nd. (Mercury blended with Saturn –in Sagittarius in harmony with Uranus-also retrograding blended with Pallas Athena– asteroid also retrograding in Aries).

Full Moon in Gemini

Gemini is an interesting sign – the twins. I liken it to going to the opposite ends of the earth to hold the space of oneness together in the center. Gemini ruled by Mercury is an expression of thought appearing in chaos and merriment to solve complex problems verbally in local communication with another.

Full Moons are always opposite the Sun and represent an emotional – coming to fruition of whatever seeds were planted during the last New Moon (on November 18th) at 26 degrees nineteen minutes Scorpio. The cycle of the Moon is about emotional cycles within us as well as gravitational effects upon us. https://psychesweather.wordpress.com/2017/04/09/a-moon-cycle-ritual/

Mercury in retrograde may prompt fierce and seemingly chaotic discussions fueled with grandiosity or largess, sound like someone we all know? Well there is an authority – Saturn in revolution – Uranus nearby to blurt out truths – on the low side. On the high side – creative communications and ideas emerge in revolutionary / evolutionary ways under a new emerging international authority allowing balance actions (Mars / Actions in Libra / Balance in a fight with revolution supported by the truth of the people.

The Other Side of Gratefulness

loveflameEternity-copy2

Part of this season of giving thanks is a reminder to feel humbled and grateful for the blessings in our lives. This could be gratefulness to friends, to food, to shelter, to a thankfulness that the roof stays over the head and doesn’t fall down.

I think we’re all aware of feeling irritated, frustrated, infuriated by the injustices…

The other side of gratefulness is to be thankful for all that is irritating and produces feelings of frustration and anger. Feelings of gratefulness to loss through “breaking-up”, loss from death of a family members, spouse, and/or best friend. You may think these are strange feelings and happenstances to feel grateful.

This kind of gratefulness brings my attention to basic underlying questions of my existence on the planet. While its great to feel grateful for what I think I have or how I relate I automatically exclude all that is unpleasant, irritating and infuriating. When I feel grateful to the pain in some bones of my left foot my attention is drawn there. I’m paying attention to something I might ordinarily forget and then I’m entering into a form of sleep.

Its easier to fight the injustices I perceive when I am grateful to the people that are eliciting unpleasant responses in me.

I think we’re all aware of feeling irritated, frustrated, infuriated by the injustices we perceive in the world around us, but when we are reminded to feel grateful we exclude those unpleasantries, because their unpleasant. When I include all those unpleasant feelings and I allow myself to feel grateful for these feelings something extraordinary abet subtle unfolds. My heart softens towards those situations and people that triggers the irritation in me. Intellectually I begin to understand their point of view even though I voraciously disagreed with them. My awareness expands and I include their beingness while continuing to disagree.

When I make room in my life for irritation and the like more people are included in the tissues of interconnectivity.

Its easier to fight the injustices I perceive when I am grateful to the people that are eliciting unpleasant responses in me. It reminds me that I am a flawed imperfect being and that other human citizens are as flawed as I am. This teaches me to “not take the issues in contention not so personally”. Of course I do – I do take the issues I interpret as injustices personally.

I tell myself to expand my gratefulness practice to include, that which is easy, and that which is tough to practice on a daily basis – and I forget to do this. I often remember that the other person isn’t perfect and I am trying to include them by releasing my irritation and softening my heart to include them in friendship. This works sometimes.

When I make room in my life for irritation and the like more people are included in the tissues of interconnectivity. Debating with these individuals makes more sense when I am grateful for the irritations that connect us because I am working on taking this less personally.

Womb with a View – satire

Lobbyists in the womb – a fanciful look at The Rights of the Un-Born (fiction I hope)WombWorldWomb-World

“I just met with sixteen hundred of our new potential constituents, in the first trimester,” Carol said.

“And are they with us?”

“I did my best. A little over one thousand have detected that they are unwanted being carried by either by unwed mothers or by mothers who aren’t sure they want to carry their babies. One thousand want to return to the “before-space” mainly because it’s not cramped. They report that the corporeal form they occupy is very primitive and brain function is minimal. Some are hoping for miscarriages because its the easiest way to release, but in leu of that abortion is okay. They don’t want to be here and are not interested in joining any political party. If they are forced to stay most would choose anarchy, but some would be socialists. I gave some of them vouchers, about two hundred souls or so.

“Of the remaining four hundred and thirty four, three hundred and two have declared themselves independents and aren’t interested in politics and think money is funny or stupid. They could be potential progressives. The others are divided into two or three categories. One group is definitely with us and about a third of them have vouchers. Another group could go in any direction and will ally with their families, some with the mothers and a smaller percentage with the father. They refused vouchers.

“The last group were very grumpy and claimed to be related to a guy I’ve never heard of – William F. Buckley Jr. I had to look him up. He was this elitist conservative type. They not only didn’t want vouchers and thought we live more in a welfare state than ever before. They wondered why we were soliciting voters in the womb.”

“Did you tell them?”

“Of course I did… But I have to tell you that this ‘Before-Space’ is a very appealing place. I’d go there tomorrow if I could. No money, no stress, no weight gain, no weight, no body. You can have sex there without any consequences, no children at all. They call it blending. I used to get blended in my 20s and the hangovers, well I don’t need to tell you. Expanded consciousness is the best thing. I guess death is something we can all look forward to.

“I asked them why they would want to leave the ‘Before-Space’ and they said it had to due with some weird attachment deal, a. Catch 22 thing. If you want to stay they boot you out, If you want to go,- trying to stay-  well you go but its a trick apparently.

“The people that don’t come back have the widest choices but they choose one thing over and over.”

“What? You’re killing me.”

“Its stupid. Its Love.”

“Well you know I’ve always loved you,” and Bob started his grab-ass thing.

“Get off me, you pig,” Carol pushed him away.

“You know what?

“What?”

“They want to know why we are courting their votes in the womb? And I told then the history. That in 2017, the GOP declared that they were citizens who could have funding to go to college and that’s when it all started.”

“What was their response?”

“They said that womb-life was too cramped and making promises was bullshit and they should be left alone by political parties and everybody else.

“I did see some conservative lobbyists there promising them fiscal responsibility. I heard giggling…”

“I gave them the survey and 100% of them said that Mom has a right to choose to send us back for another shot later when we are wanted.”

Being the Wider Perspective in Troubled Times

images

We live in troubled times. Part of the trouble has to do with the changing times. In 1992 the sun –our star shifted frequency and a new epoch was born. The patriarchal system not only stopped working but a new vibration began its existence. The new vibration isn’t fully manifest yet. The new vibration has to do with an economy without money and without tyranny from whence systems of money are built. The new vibration is based on community. A community-based economy is a long way off. And a world without money and tyranny is farther away.

as11-44-6667

Intellectually the wider perspective is “seeing” that the trouble times we are in is part of the dying of tyranny from the perspective of the larger context of a world without money and tyranny, a world without as many laws, a blending of classes, a reduced need for police, no military, no war, sustained world wide peace and so on.

How do we begin?na-pali-95

A first step is working on Being and letting go of doing and attachment.

Letting go of doing and attachment is a lifelong process that can generate energy for Beingness.

So let’s skip to the good part: Being.

From a Being perspective go back to the beginning of your life and experience the beginning of this lifetime and the place your body occupies as one present moment. From this current moment of today go forward to the time of the death of your physical body. (From the linear time perspective your ego doesn’t know when your body will pass – or maybe you do know. It’s just the passing of your physical body. Maybe that brings up some fears. See if you can suspend those fears.) Experience your entire lifetime in your current physical body as one present moment.

Being from this larger perspective is incredibly freeing. When I first experienced an expanded present moment of 20 years I felt the difference being Being-Time and Doing (or Ego)-time. In Being-Time I saw that I am going to be okay no matter what. Sure I will feel happy, sad, have losses, suffer ect, and I will be okay.

I challenge you to practice an expanded present moment and then choose to feel okay no matter what happens.

Then we you feel stress or worry remember how you felt during your expanded present moment experience and that you are okay. This will help you to let go of so-called negative emotions and live in your Beingness of a wider perspective.

GOP’s Tax Plan Ultimate Goal…

wethepeople

Fight and Defeat the GOP tax scam to Preserve Liberty for All and Defeat Tyranny.

The Republicans have designed a tax plan whose long-term aim is simple:

“Destroy the Welfare State”

and bring on

“The Corporate Rule”

They claim they want an unregulated free-market capitalism in the belief that it will restore the American Economy to the glory of the 1950s and 60s. However the tax plan puts into effect regulations that will implement the destruction of the Middle Class and the Poor while elevating the rich and changing the world into an oligarchy by Corporations.

In the short term of the long-term plan as the deficits rise more social programs will be cut. It will be the eventual end of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Real possibilities of California, New York and Massachusetts seceding from The USA may happen.

It will create a world of rich people similar to those in the 1920s that will lead to a Great Depression that will make the last Great Depression look like a walk in the park.

Trump’s vilification and objectification of others that don’t agree with him and/or lavish him with praise is setting a tone and a precedent for treating others that disagree with the people in power as enemies to be eliminated. His xenophobic policies towards immigrants, his objectifications of women his treatment of disaster victims (especially the ones that didn’t vote for him*) is setting a tone and a callous disregard for the middle class and poor.

This tone will be made law via the tax plan and is a code for the destruction of capitalism and democracy for all Americans and ultimately it will destroy what’s left of American democracy for the Middle Class and poor.

World War II was one of the quickest ways for America to rise up out the Great Depression and it has been a prescription for economy recovery – although it is now more expensive because these wars never end. They are the Resource Wars – Iraq and Afghanistan involves the resource of oil, in Vietnam it was metals for manufacturing. When the Middle Class and the Poor are beaten down more and more joining the military is a salvation. The oil resource is dying and renewables are the future – oil lines the pockets of the rich that have the power so its easier to take via war, destruction and death – a profitable industry for the super-rich.

When hope is gone and rage turns to violence many more will be incarcerated both in prison and possibly in prison camps – as political prisoners. Its also possible if not probably, many will leave the USA as refugees for other nations with better economic opportunities.

Save Democracy & Capitalism – ON THE TAX CUT PLAN

  • Tying the elimination of the ACA to this tax cut plan is the most pernicious act of all considering that your constituency has repeatedly spoken against eliminating the ACA. (You have voted against the repeal of the ACA as well.) VOTE NO!

  • A tax cut mainly benefiting the wealthy and claiming that “trickle-down” economics works to grow the economy has historically failed –it succeeds in fueling the economy for the rich but not for everyone and represents a switch from democracy to a total plutocracy where corporations rule and the middle class are more on their way to be serfs and slaves. This tax cut is unacceptable. VOTE NO!

  • Those making between $10,000 and $75,000 per year will have to pay more taxes and by 2025 those making over $75,000 even those tax cuts will be gone. Tax cuts to corporations will be permanent. The “I-Am” Exercise

VertexSmalldarkerDone-copy

Activate your heart chakra with the ‘I-am” exercise. [breathing with your intention on your heart chakra – the breast bone or sternum and think “I” or say “I” silently on the in breath. breath-out and say “am” silently or think “am” on the out breath. Let a resonance of feeling engender in your heart chakra.

The heart chakra is the source of emotion. Our cognitive processes (neo cortex) interpret, delineate and name emotions that we feel. Love is the underpinning of all emotion.

The purpose of the “I-Am” exercise is to activate and affirm our emotional presence.

Home Remedies: Love in Cooking & Richness in a Recipe

Love in…
Cooking with love is easy and many of you most likely do this. Before elucidating the how – a story.
In the 1990s I cooked for my landlord’s wife in exchange for dollars off my rent. She had some severe food allergies. The aim was to make meals and prepare food to her specifications and keep food costs low. Her mainstay was chicken and I was a vegetarian at that time. I purchased boneless chicken breasts at Costco. When I began cooking the chicken I could feel how savagely the chickens had been killed. I had known – in the past this but had forgotten. Kosher chicken is the only chicken killed humanely to my knowledge. It was through directed love that I was able to ameliorate the effects of the violence done to these chickens – as much as possible.

I employed an exercise to activate the heart. Scientists have discovered neurons in the heart. The heart is an organ for sensing emotions, our cognitive brain givens language to delineate these emotions… The exercise is the “I-Am” exercise designed to activate feeling in the heart and allow love to expand. https://psychesweather.wordpress.com/2017/11/20/the-i-am-exercise/

I activated the “I-Am” and directed loving kindness to the chicken. Nora, my landlord’s wife reported that she felt the love in the meals.

Richness
Chicken Breast with White Wine Sauce, Asparagus and Rice (may be substituted with mashed potatoes)
These ingredients aren’t exact because it’s from memory – something I haven’t cooked for a long while.

Inner Prep Work:
Ground and pay attention to your breath as you begin and then periodically through the cooking process. Treat yourself and every ingredient with loving-kindness. As you handle each piece of meat and other ingredients infuse them with love and kindness. As you add the ingredients together project your love into them.

Hardware:
Long-handled wooden spoon for stirring
1 or 2 measuring cups
1 sauté pan
1 saucepan
a table knife or spoon
a sharp knife
Gravy or sauce bowl
Ladle

What’s in it:
2 to 4 boned and skinned chicken breasts (rinsed)
Chicken Stock
¼ to ½ cup white wine
½ to 1 stick of butter
1 pint of heavy cream
olive oil or butter
Some asparagus (rinsed)
Wild Rice or Brown Rice (rinsed)  or 7 – 10 Yukon Gold Potatoes

What to do:
Thaw the chicken stock in advance
If you’re preparing mashed potatoes prepare them in advance while thawing the chicken stock and reheat in the microwave or oven when close to serving.

Brown the chicken in a skillet on both sides until golden brown using butter or cooking oil.
Pour in the chicken stock (liquid only) until it nearly covers the breasts and bring to a boil.
Once boiling turn heat down to medium or medium low and reduce by half.

Add butter and let melt and diffuse.

Start the rice. (Rice cookers are a good for this kind of cooking)

Pour or ladle out ½ to ¾ of stock to a small pan and add the pint of heavy cream, put on medium heat and stir occasionally. Reduce by half.

Pour mixture back into the pan with the chicken, add the wine and reduce by half or three-quarters.

While reducing cut the bottoms of the asparagus stems and steam the asparagus.

Serving:
Take the breast out of the pan and place on a dish with the cooked rice and steamed asparagus.

Take the sauce or pan sauce and pour over chicken. Reserve the rest in a gravy bowl with a ladle

Home Remedies: Chicken Stock and Soup

ChickieSoupee

You can make chicken soup by making stock in advance and storing in the freezer. If you’re using more than 1 container for freezing your stock you’ll need to double up on some ingredients. I have always used one large ice cream tub. (You can substitute turkey for chicken but even for Thanksgiving I prefer Chicken over Turkey any day.) I suggest buying organically fed chickens that are “free-range”. Kosher chicken is best because they are killed in a humane manner.

You’ll need:
Either a whole chicken or breasts, legs, wings with the bone.
1 – 2 medium sized yellow onion*
A few carrots
3-5 small boiling potatoes
Leeks and / or celery
A good white wine – Chardonnay – you can use non-alcoholic white wine or white grape juice**
4 to 8 whole cloves*
2 cloves of garlic
Dried herbs – oregano, basil, thyme, 1 or 2 bay leaves
Cooking oil – olive or grapeseed oil

Tap or bottled water (or Britta Water)
A large pot with a lid
A large wooden spoon
Plastic containers (to freeze the soup in) and room in your freezer, of course
A measuring cup (unless you like improvisational cooking)
A sharp knife
A good cutting board
A mortar and pestle (optional)

What to do:
Wash the carrots, leeks and potatoes in tepid running water (cold is okay too). When washing the leeks cut at regular intervals and splay the sheaths open and wash thoroughly – they usually have sand grains in them and its good to get them out. Peel the onion and set aside. Peel the garlic and chop or crush in the mortar with the pestle. Chop the celery and or the leeks as desired.

De-bone the chickie and save the bones.

Pour ½ to 1 cup of the Chardonnay into a measuring cup and set aside

Coat the bottom of your pot with a generous splash of cooking oil and heat. You can tell if the oil is hot enough by running your hand under tap water or bottled water and dribbling the water into the pot. When it sizzles the oil is hot. Turn the heat on your stove down to a low flame or setting.

Add the carrots, potatoes, chopped or crushed garlic and sauté. If you using chopped celery (I don’t use it because it gets caught in my teeth –its stringy and brittle) add it last and sauté. Add the bay leaves. Add pinches of the other spices.

Next add the chicken and mix with the rest of the group, stirring it all together with the long wooden spoon. While it simmers – for 10 to 15 minutes on a very low heat go on to the next prep step.

Peel the onion and insert four whole cloves equidistant from each other in the whole onion.

Add tap, Britta or Bottled Water to the mix filling up about half way. Add the leeks, the onion and the bones from the chicken. Bring to a rolling boil. At boiling add the cup of good white wine (Chardonnay). Bring back to a rolling boil. Then lower the heat to a simmer and cover.

Let simmer until the carrots and potatoes are soft to a fork. Turn off heat.

Let cool.

Once cool pour off the liquid into the plastic containers and seal with the lids. Add the some of the chickie meat and vegetables to each container. Each container needs to have the onion with the 4 whole cloves stuck in and a few bones

For Soup:
Use the stock as a starter. – Add more chicken with or without bones, carrots, garlic – chopped onion, garlic and chopped red peppers sautéed in the bottom of the pot, add the stock including the onion with the cloves in it – or not. Add rice, barley, noodles or not.

Note:
I originally made chicken stock because I was planning on making a sauce with heavy cream, so bear in mind your stock doesn’t have to contribute only to chicken soup.

———————————————–

* When doubling-up on onions and cloves if you’re using more than one container for storage – remember you’re making stock – not soup. When you make stock it’s the broth you’ll be using as a base for soup or sauces mostly.

** When alcohol is using in cooking most of the alcohol is burned off but not all. So if you’re particularly sensitive to alcohol switch to non-alcoholic wines or white grape juice – not too sweet. Using good wine means you’ll have a good flavor. Use a bad wine or grocery store “cooking wine” it makes your food taste cheap and can spoil a dish.
